
BlaKC Excellence Academy
BlaKC Excellence Academy is a multi-year cohort program for first-generation and low-income Black youth. Built on Power, Culture, Unity, and Legacy, scholars engage through summer academies, school-year programming, and 1-1 college support. They develop leadership identity, explore HBCUs, and build a lifelong community rooted in Black excellence and civic engagement.

GRADE
Students must be eligible to graduate with the Class of 2028 to begin the Academy in July.
Must be enrolled to begin 11th grade for 2026-2027 SY
GPA
There is no minimum GPA to apply.
However:
Accepted students commit to maintaining a 2.5 minimum GPA
TIME
BlaKC Excellence Academy is a low time commitment.
Scholars are required to attend Summer Academy in July & once monthly programing.
